Bill Gates is going to get control of your PC, and he's apparently not going to take 'no' for an answer: A recent memo percolating through Office Depot details the Microsoft logo scheme that means Office Depot won't sell you any 'non-compliant' XP products:
Suppliers who will be affected by the scheme tell the INQUIRER that they believe the primary goal of Microsoft is to push digital rights management (DRM) through the back door. If products cannot be sold unless they have been subjected to a whole battery of Microsoft tests, they will have to conform to the rules of the software giant.
Seems Bill couldn't convert people to XP on the technical merits of the product, so he's got another card up his sleeve to ensure everyone has to upgrade their MS-partner hardware and then hand over the DRM keys. If you're running XP, take my advice, bail out now! Don't say I didn't warn you.
