It all started back in 1995...

As I set myself to
learning new fiddle tunes, I transcribed a few into MIDI to help keep
me in rhythm and tune. As time went on, I discovered many other
fantastic archives of fiddle tunes in MIDI format, ABC files, song
lyrics and sheet music sites, CDs, books ... and, well, rather than
hoard it all, being a good sort, I thought I should share ...
Well, time did go on and things collected
together. Patrick Murphy listed us on his Irish
Thingies page, and people started showing up in hoards, making
recommendations, creating new MIDI files, requesting links, adding
links, linking to us, sending corrections, sending emails, poking
around and generally it was not too long at all before this whole
thing was far too large and jumbled to be set into one long tedious
page.

So we changed it.
Our humble page still hosts MIDI files of fiddle
tunes, and links to thousands of ABC-format tunebooks, but it's gone
beyond that now. We have websites, books, radio programs, and
anything else that strikes our fancy or gets mailed to us from our
visitors. When we started, there was Patrick's site and this one,
and maybe handful of others; today, there are more Irish sites than
anyone dared imagine in 1995, and while this page cannot hope to track
them all, I hope it is at least a starting point. Do come in, browse
around the topic areas or just search for what you will. Enjoy.
